 ”The Day the Earth Stood Still” is 20th Century Fox’s contemporary reinvention of its 1951 classic. Keanu Reeves portrays Klaatu, an alien whose arrival on our planet triggers a global upheaval. As governments and scientists race to unravel the mystery behind the visitor’s appearance, a woman (Jennifer Connelly) and her young stepson get caught up in his mission - and come to understand the ramifications of his being a self-described “friend to the Earth.”

According to Stallone, the new plotline sees the character of Rambo as having “assimilated into the tapestry of America,” living with his family in relative peace for the past fifteen years but still working for the military, when work pressures force him to move his family to the American outback. The Navajo-Indian former Green Beret and his family are then subject to an attack by white-supremacists, and Rambo has to risk life-and-limb in rescuing his 10-year old daughter from being held hostage.

“The Bank Job” stars Jason Statham (”War,” “Crank,” “The Italian Job”) as Terry, the car dealer with a dodgy past and Saffron Burrows (”Klimt,” “Enigma”) as Martine, the successful model from his old neighborhood who inveigles her old flame and his friends into undertaking the bank robbery. The film was written by Dick Clement & Ian La Frenais, directed by Roger Donaldson (”No Way Out,” “Thirteen Days,” “The Recruit”).

Rhona Mitra as Eden Sinclair, the leader of the elite team sent to find a cure. The heroine was inspired by the character Snake Plissken. Mitra worked out and trained in fighting for eleven weeks for the film. Marshall described Mitra’s character as a soldier who has been rendered cold from her military indoctrination, and her journey to find the cure for the virus is one of redemption.
Bob Hoskins as Bill Nelson, a policeman who nominates Sinclair for the mission and monitors her progress.
Malcolm McDowell as Kane, a former scientist who found the cure for the virus and now lives as a feudal lord in an abandoned castle.[6] McDowell described his character as a King Lear. According to Marshall, Kane is based on Kurtz from Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness. The director originally sought to bring Sean Connery out of retirement to play Kane but was unsuccessful.
Craig Conway as Sol, the son of Kane and the leader of the Marauders, a renegade gang that was left behind in Scotland.

Sean Pertwee in an unnamed role.

David Duchovny will reprise his role of Special Agent Fox Mulder. Gillian Anderson is also expected to be back on board to play Special Agent Dana Scully. The popular series ran on Fox from 1993 to 2002. Rob Bowman directed the first feature, which hit theaters on June 19, 1998.

“The Bank Job” was inspired by a real-life 1971 London bank robbery that was never solved. A band of thieves tunneled their way into a safe deposit vault, taking millions of dollars in cash and jewelry. The robbery made headlines for several days, but then all reporting stopped as a result of a government gag order. In “Bank Job,” the crime involves murder, corruption and a sex scandal with links to the royal family. Ultimately, the thieves are among the most innocent involved.

In “Doomsday,” a lethal virus spreads throughout a major country and kills hundreds of thousands. To contain the newly identified Reaper, the authorities brutally quarantine the country as it succumbs to fear and chaos. The literal walling-off works for three decades – until Reaper violently resurfaces in a major city. An elite group of specialists, including Eden Sinclair (Mitra), is urgently dispatched into the still-quarantined country to retrieve a cure by any means necessary. Shut off from the rest of the world, the unit must battle through a landscape that has become a waking nightmare.
